Red at Night...
Red at night, sailors delight! When the sun sets, its light passes through more of the atmosphere, scattering shorter wavelengths (blue) and leaving longer wavelengths (red/orange). A red sunset typically indicates stable, clear weather moving in from the west, which is why sailors could expect calm seas.
